Vintage Hairstyles & Updos

There are some wonderful styles from the 50's and 70's that are really popular at the moment.
If you've been invited to a fancy dress party, you can have some great fun creating a stunning hairdo from the appropriate era.
Whilst some of the looks can be quite hard to create - for example, some of the older styles require backcombing, some are easier than you
imagine.
There's a couple of sites that will help you get some great ideas:-
1. Wikimedia Commons - this is a resource and an archive full of images and pictures of just about anything you can
imagine. Check out the screen or film stars from your chosen era.
2. Fashion-Era.com - full of dozens of pictures, fashion and costume trends and information - this is a must-see
site. It's not the easiest on the eye, but you can almost guarantee you'll be able to get inspired!
We're continuing to build this resource on a regular basis and would love to add any photos or articles that you have.
Recommended Resources
Your Local Fancy Dress store - most stores will have a range of clothing available for parties and events. You'll
often be able to hire wigs, belts and sometimes even music from the era, to get you in the mood to party.
